How Can I Get An Ebike For Free? Colorado Ebike Rebate Program FAQ

Q: How much is the rebate voucher for?

A: Eligible Colorado residents can receive the following incentive amounts for a qualified e-bike purchase.

For a cargo ebike, applicants can receive a $1400 (for low-income family) or $800 (for moderate-income family) incentive. Click this link to check out Hovsco's cargo ebike - HovCart.

For other kinds of ebike (except full-suspension ebikes), applicants can receive a $1100 (for low-income family) or $500 (for moderate-income family) incentive. Check out all Hovsco's ebike collection at this link.

Q: Who is eligible?

A: To be eligible for an e-bike rebate, you must be ① a resident of the State of Colorado,② 18 years of age or older, and ③ income-qualified. Proof of a physical Colorado address is required.

• Income Qualification

Low-Income Rebate

To meet the income qualifications for the low-income rebate, your household income needs to be below 80% of the area median income (AMI). Click here to check AMI.

Example: You live in Eagle County. There are 3 people in your household. Your household income would need to be below $85,200 to be eligible for the low-income rebate.

Moderate-Income Rebate

To meet the income qualifications for the moderate-income rebate, your household income needs to be between 80% - 100% of the area median income (AMI).

Example: You live in Eagle County. There are 3 people in your household. Your household income would need to be above $85,200 (80% AMI) but below $106,500 to be eligible for the moderate-income rebate.

Q: Can I use the voucher on any eBike?

Only Class 1, 2 and 3 ebikes are eligible. Ebike top speed cannot be above 28 miles per hour. Electric motor cannot be above 750W or be gas powered. Please be aware that mountain bikes with full suspension are not eligible.

Q: How to redeem the rebate?

To qualify for the e-bike rebate, you must buy a new e-bike from a participating bike retailer. Luckily, Hovsco has partnered with the program, so applicants can apply their vouchers towards a purchase of Hovsco ebikes in our online store!  Please reach out to our support team first to verify your rebate, and then place the order in our online store.

Q: Can I combine Denver or Boulder city ebike rebate programs with this program?

A: No, programs cannot be combined. You can apply one rebate voucher for a single ebike purchase.

But Hovsco ebikes also support Denver and Boulder city ebike rebate! Please contact our support team for further assistance.

Q: When will the next round of applications open?

A: The final round of applications will open at 10:00 AM MT on Monday, February 12, 2024 and remain open until 4:00 PM MT on Monday, February 19, 2024.

Q: Is the ebike rebate program ending? Will there be more ebike rebate programs in Colorado in the future?

A: Although CEO does not anticipate receiving additional funding (past February 2024) for the statewide e-bike rebate program in the future, the office is preparing to launch a statewide e-bike tax credit on April 1, 2024. All Colorado residents will be eligible to receive this tax credit as a $450 point-of-sale discount on a qualified e-bike purchase from an authorized e-bike retailer through 2032.
