HOVSCO Fun Ride: Recap of Our First Group Cycling Event

On July 20, HOVSCO joined forces with Richard Lewis to host an unforgettable group cycling event. HOVSCO is all about crafting electric bikes that are both top-notch and dependable, perfect for cycling enthusiasts. And Richard Lewis is an e-bike expert with over 20 years of riding experience. This event was not only a great opportunity for HOVSCO owners to meet in person but also a celebration of the joys of healthy living and a tribute to the beauty of our planet.

• Date and Time: July 20, Saturday at 8:00 AM
• Meeting Location: Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC)
• Route: The ride began at ARTIC, followed the Santa Ana River Bike Path to Huntington Beach, and returned, totaling 27 miles (13.5 miles each way).
• Participants: 8 riders completed the 27-mile round trip—6 on HOVSCO bikes and 2 on other brands.
• Ride Duration and Speed: The ride took 1 hour and 32 minutes, with an average speed of 17.5 mph, highlighting the event's efficiency and energy.
• Prizes:Riders who completed the journey received HOVSCO drawstring backpacks and hats as rewards.

• Heartwarming Family Story: Daniel Martinez and his daughter added a warm touch to the event. He joined the ride with his daughter, demonstrating the closeness and warmth of family. Despite Daniel’s daughter having autism, she excitedly expressed her love for the event after it concluded. This touching moment deeply moved everyone present and highlighted the special significance of the ride. Daniel’s family's participation added a lot of warmth to the event, turning it into not just a sporting event but a family gathering filled with love and support.

• Overcoming Challenges: John Schatzlein, a true challenger, has ridden over 3000 miles on his HOVSCO e-bike. Despite having a prosthetic leg, he eagerly signed up for the event upon seeing our announcement. On the day of the ride, John completed the entire journey with other participants. His fearless spirit and perseverance were truly inspiring, demonstrating his love for cycling and the endless possibilities of e-bikes.

• Team Spirit: Although the participants, apart from Daniel’s family, were meeting for the first time, they quickly bonded during the ride, encouraging each other. This team spirit added a lot of fun and cohesion to the event, and everyone successfully reached the destination and returned safely.
• Fun Moments: Some amusing incidents happened during the ride. For instance, one rider, Ryan, arrived at the meeting point only to realize he had forgotten his helmet, so he just came to say hello. Although he did not join the ride, his presence brought some laughter to the team, adding a lively touch to the event.
